Exploring all the most important parts of herbal practice, we focus on the basics and go deep into herbal energetics, constitutional theory, and medicine-making. A little bit of everything, this is an amazing introduction to the rich traditions that make up the world of herbal medicine with a heavy focus on real-time medicine making in the Casa Curativa lab.

Our philosophy is simple: We want to give our students an energetic model for understanding the patterns in nature in within the human body. This way you begin to see nature through the lens of a healer.

History of Herbal Medicine
We dive into the rich traditional history of using medicinal plants with an anthropological view to holistically conceptualize this complex and diverse history.

Tissue States and Organ Systems
Learn anatomy and physiology, how tissue states manifest in disease patterns, and how to pair those patterns with herbs that fit the same profile.

Medicine Making 101
You will walk away knowing how to prepare 10 different traditional herbal medicines in this crash course. We will have some fun in the lab, and you get to take home with you the medicine you made yourself.

Herbal Actions and Energetics
Learn how plants express energetic actions and affinities through their taste, appearance, and growing environment. Learn the terminology necessary to speak and think like an herbalist, and see the plant world with new eyes.

Heart Connection and Talking to Plants
In order to deepen your practice, a budding herbalist does best incorporating a rooted spiritual understanding of herbal medicine. Learn how to sit and connect with plants from a place of humility and respect.

Botany and Wildcrafting
Learn the basics for how to properly identify plant families in the wild, and the best practices to harvest and propagate them. With this knowledge, you will ensure abundance and contribute to the continued thriving of plant medicines in the wild.
